Each office has ramped up their efforts to maximise the impact of their chosen charity in supporting their local communities this Christmas, ensuring no one gets left behind this festive season.

A Little Ray of Giving is Ray White’s annual Christmas charity initiative which is primarily focused on offices giving back to their local communities through a charity of their choice, by collecting and making donations.

We spoke to some of our offices about who they're supporting this year, and why

This year, Ray White Pakenham has partnered with sister office Ray White Officer in south eastern Melbourne. The teams have done a joint venture this year and chosen local charity Have Hope; Inc.’s Christmas initiative ‘Have a Little Hope’ to support through A Little Ray of Giving.

Have Hope; Inc. is a small not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide support to a variety of stakeholders in the community ranging from families who have recently lost someone they love by suicide, to someone trying to cope in an abusive home or someone dealing with a physical illness or injury.

“We chose them because they raise money locally and provide food to families struggling financially to put food on the table and give their children gifts at Christmas,” Ray White Pakenham general manager Vicky Senior said.

“When I came to Australia from the UK, I didn't know anyone and Christmas was a very challenging time for me. My Australian friends and family took me in and 16 years later I still live in Pakenham and feel strongly about paying it forward, which is why I decided this year we should participate in the A Little Ray of Giving campaign. My community saved me and now I want to give back.

“For me it is more common than we realise that people are struggling with cost of living and some people never speak up about it and just continue to struggle alone. We at Ray White Pakenham and Officer feel so lucky to be part of such a close knit family and anything we can do to give back to the community, we will.”

The Ray White Wamuran office has been supporting A Little Ray of Giving since its inception 13 years ago. They are once again supporting the Lions Club of Wamuran, part of a service of national volunteers committed to supporting communities across Australia.

“We love giving back - it fills our cup in so many ways. At this time of year, many families are struggling, and we’re fortunate to be in a position where we can help,” office manager Madilyn Ward said.

“In our industry, we see so many people facing challenges, including finding a home, so initiatives like A Little Ray of Giving allow us to make a difference in their lives.

“Wamuran, just 10 minutes west of Caboolture, is still very much a small country town at heart. Our community values the spirit of helping thy neighbour. From street Christmas parties to locals getting behind initiatives like A Little Ray of Giving, there’s a strong sense of togetherness here. It’s incredibly rewarding to bring smiles to others, especially during the Christmas season.

“We’ve partnered with the Wamuran Lions Club since its inception in 2017. As a local not-for-profit organisation, they align perfectly with our values. Both principal Terry Ward and I are foundation members of the Lions, making this partnership even more special.

“Each year, the Wamuran Lions choose different organisations to support. This year, they’re continuing their support for the Caboolture Police Station’s community run and the Caboolture Hospital Children’s Ward for Christmas Eve.”

In addition to this, sister office Ray White Caboolture has partnered with CADA (Centre Against Domestic Abuse).

“Sadly, we’ve seen an increase in domestic abuse cases among our clients. Partnering with CADA is one way we can contribute to supporting these victims. In the last 12 months alone, they supported 23,000 people through domestic abuse and violence situations,” Madilyn said.

The Ray White Wamuran team also sponsored the Santa Run for Wamuran, D’Aguilar, Delaneys Creek, and Mount Mee, while the Ray White Caboolture team sponsored the Santa Run for Elimbah.

During the Wamuran Santa Run, property consultant Sophie Laws and sales associate Jasmyn Burke joined local councillor Tony Latter as he drove Santa around in a custom-built sleigh on the back of his RAM ute (pictured above).

Jasmyn played Santa’s little helper, and the offices proudly donated over 1,000 lolly bags for the event. The pair said it was a fantastic five hour journey, and are excited to do it all again for the Mount Mee run on Friday, December 13.
