Auction volume was higher today in comparison to the 2023 AFL Grand Final Saturday which saw 247 properties going under the hammer.

Australasia’s largest real estate group reported a preliminary clearance rate of a healthy 65 per cent, with Adelaide coming in as the top city for the day sitting at 70 per cent.

There were an average of 4.2 registered bidders per auction across the country, with 2.8 of those bidders actively participating, on par with the same time last year.

The highest sale of the day was at 25 Bangalla St, Warrawee which sold under the hammer for $9.2 million, pushing far past its reserve price of $8 million. Michael Demspey from Ray White Upper North Shore managed the campaign, seeing a huge 120 groups come through the home in three weeks.

The property with the highest number of bidders was in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, where a family home at 48 Derwent Avenue, Upper Mount Gravatt attracted 16 registered bidders. James Austin from Ray White Mt Gravatt managed the sale.

According to NurtureCloud data, Ray White agents met 21,934 groups at open homes today, with the highest number of attendees having a look at 2/29A Oliver Street, Freshwater. A huge 95 groups inspected the two-bedroom original unit, being marketed by Eddy Piddington from Ray White Northern Beaches.

On average, sellers made 10 per cent more by taking their property through to auction day, than if they had taken the highest offer prior to auction.
