The elegant country estate, Bantry, in Ipswich’s North Booval, is situated on more than a hectare of riverfront land. The timeless character home was inspired by the charm of an Irish estate, and designed by architects Osterfield & Johnson.

Seller Sandra Haggarty is a long time Ipswich local and runs a successful business in the area. As she closes this chapter of her life, she plans to share her time between her farm near Esk in south east Queensland and with family before downsizing into an apartment.

Ms Haggarty purchased Bantry more than 30 years ago with late husband John Haggarty. The property, which was only two years old when they purchased it in 1993, holds many memories for her.

“I love everything about it - every day as I go around and I fall more in love with it,” Ms Haggarty said.

“It’s quiet and peaceful, overlooking the river. Everywhere I walk are memories with my family.

“I love walking past the formal areas - John’s music room is so special to me. He used to play all the time.”

After purchasing the home from a local doctor who had built it, the couple set about landscaping the property to perfect their dream family home.

“It was bit by bit, we had to take our time to get the work done,” Ms Haggarty said.

“John and I were working every weekend to get the gardens where they are today. It was our dream to have the garden so manicured. At the beginning, it was a beautiful house with a sad garden.”

Selling agent Katie Cotton said homes of this calibre and scale are rarely available, making this a special opportunity.

“It’s rare to find a property that combines such grandeur, space, and privacy, while also offering modern conveniences,” she said.

"Bantry offers an unbeatable combination of luxurious indoor and outdoor living spaces, all set on over 2.5 acres of pristine riverfront land.

"This property is perfect for families seeking space, serenity, and a connection to nature. It’s also ideal for anyone who loves to entertain, with its expansive verandas, resort-style pool, and breathtaking views providing the perfect backdrop for gatherings."
