Continuing our celebration of remarkable women is Courtney Martin, general manager and driving force of NurtureCloud. Approaching her impressive 10-year milestone with corporate, Courtney's unwavering passion extends beyond just professional success to elevating everyone in our network.

In 2018, Courtney was named winner of the Myf Porter Award - with Dan White describing her remarkable “work ethic, discipline and respect for the members of our network”. Flash forward to 2023, Courtney took home the Ray White Cutting Edge Award, for her immense hard work on the NurtureCloud roll-out for our members.

It is clear that the level of innovation, creativity and commitment to growth Courtney has shown - at every diverse step of her career with Ray White - is nothing short of extraordinary.

Let's hear it, Courtney!

What piece of advice would you tell your younger self or someone just starting out?

Don't be afraid to make mistakes - it's the best way to learn! I'm a perfectionist by nature and sometimes that has held me back from taking risks and trying different things. Not everything you try will pay off and that's ok because you learn from them.

Over your nearly 10 years here, what moments or achievements have made you most proud to be part of this organisation?

Most people are shocked when I tell them Ray White is still a family business, something you don't really get a sense of until you're a part of it. My favourite event on the calendar has to be Connect, it's like the real estate olympics that comes around every 3 year. Obviously the conference is amazing - speakers, breakouts, etc - but it has to be the best party I've ever been to and you really do feel like you're a part of something so special when you're there.

On a personal level, I've loved the opportunities for growth that Ray White provides. We're a curious group that supports and attracts amazing talent with strong ambition, and the environment allows for that ambition to thrive. It's crazy to think we're in our 123rd year, and I really do believe our best years are still ahead because we have the right people on the bus with us.

What’s the number one challenge you’ve faced, as a woman, in your exceptional career?

To be honest I haven't really found my career more challenging because I'm a woman, that's probably still to come. I'm expecting my first child this year and with that comes the balancing act of being a mum, whilst ensuring my career doesn't get put on hold. Something I'm sure a lot of women struggle with, but I'm looking forward to the challenge!

This International Women's Day, what message would you like to share with other women about building a long-term career they love?

Ensure you have people in your corner that mentor, inspire and support you. I'm fortunate to have the best real estate brain in the country mentoring me. My mum is the hardest working, most dedicated person I know so I was fortunate to have someone like her to look up to growing up, and I couldn't ask for a more supportive partner.

In their words... Courtney is the hardest and the most conscientious human being that I’ve ever worked with. Extraordinarily passionate about the success of NurtureCloud, however that fades into insignificance around her desire to improve the position of everyone in our network. There could not be a better person to be involved in the NurtureCloud project.

- Mark McLeod, chief strategy officer

Courtney is a natural leader, her decision making provides confidence not only to our team but to our corporate members and network. She stands firm in her principles and is self assured, yet incredibly humble. The way Courtney supports and empowers the people around her is often unseen but is a testament to her exceptional leadership.
