The property goes to auction on Tuesday September 24 at 5:30pm, and the auction will be both online and on-site.

Due to Kellie’s ongoing health battles, and need for constant support for family members right now, the pair have made the tough decision to let go of their first home to cater to the revolving door of helpers necessary to keep their worlds moving forward.

Jeremy has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2024 season with a laceration to his spleen, while his beautiful wife Kellie has been battling cancer for the last three years.

The 28-year-old was first diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in 2021, three months after giving birth to the couple’s daughter, Sophia. The disease went on to metastasise in her lungs and she is now undergoing intensive treatments again.

“We’ve moved just around the corner, closer to my treatment and the beach which will hopefully mean I can spend more time in my happy place when I have the energy to do so. And means our daughter Sophia can grow up next to the beach like her mum did, which is pretty special,” Kellie said.

“In terms of what’s next, I’m currently undergoing chemotherapy to hopefully shrink the mets in my lungs and enable me to have a surgery in December which will be one of my hardest recoveries over the last almost three years. Crazy!”

Kellie said her favourite thing about the house at 5 Vickers Ave, Hendon, set on a spacious 671 sqm block, was the living room. The house is in a brilliant location close to West Lakes Shore.

“It’s so dainty and beautiful but with a lick of paint is also as modern as you’d need or like. I’d say Jeremy’s favourite is the land size and the size of the shed, which he was able to turn into a man cave for the past couple years, typical bloke!”

Kellie said the home was immediately livable but also has so much potential to extend.

“I wish we had the ability to do this ourselves but unfortunately my health is our priority at the moment. And our neighbours are god's gift, they’re honestly the best humans you can ever live next door to and we will miss them everyday.

“In terms of health. Everyone knows that I’m on the hard stuff again, still doing all of the things to encourage a long and beautiful life while also living the best life I’m able. And in terms of Jezz, he’s finished for the season so needs a stable space to focus on his pre-season and come back next year at his very best.

“With the help of our families looking after me and Soph, we believe he’ll be able to focus a lot more on himself and have his best season yet.”

Ray White North Adelaide principal Rachel Lawrie said Kellie and Jeremy Finlayson have added their own charm to their home at 5 Vickers Ave Hendon, amplifying its character that drew them to it in the first place.

“The original features such as the magnificent ornate sunflower ceilings are complemented by the modern touches and renovations this amazing couple have added to the home,” she said.

“With a huge amount of further potential to extend (subject to council consent) and bring the large back yard further to life for all the family to enjoy, just makes this gorgeous family home even more attractive.”

Rachel said there was a large demand from buyers in this area for homes with potential and affordability.

“It’s got original characteristics, plus a large backyard and good sized garage. Hendon is a suburb on the rise due to its affordability and being centrally located to the city and beach.”
