Designed and built by owners Danny and Denise Tahan, the home at 100 Henley Marine Dr, Russell Lea, was a labour of love that began when the couple purchased the property on Valentine’s Day three years ago.

“The property settled on February 14 – Valentine’s Day, and we wanted it to be our dream home for our family. We believed it was a sign,” Denise said.

With Denise’s background in interior design and Danny’s expertise as a builder, the pair embarked on an extensive design and construction journey, transforming the site into a contemporary showpiece tailored for family living and entertaining.

“We lived in the home for one year while we progressed the design and build of the home as Denise is an interior designer and I’m a builder. We had our two-year-old son at the time, so we wanted to start our family and find our nest in the inner west for him to live, play, and go to school in,” Danny said.

Spanning multiple levels, the residence features expansive living areas, high-end finishes, and seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity. A self maintained private garden, alfresco kitchen, fire pit, and heated swimming pool ensure the home is just as suited to entertaining as it is to everyday family life.

“Entertainment areas, including a cinema room, pool, alfresco BBQ area, and fire pit with seating, were important to us as we wanted to make our home our landing spot for living and socialising, rather than having to go out,” Danny said.

“The building process took approximately two years, including the design, planning and council approval stages. It was important for us to include high-end features, use the best trades, have large bedrooms with ensuites, and walk-in robes for everyone’s comfort and privacy.”

The home’s intelligent design extends to its functional elements, with a four-car stacker garage, a lift, and a suite of smart home technologies including Control 4 Automation, ducted air-conditioning, CCTV, and video entry.

Throughout the build, the couple recognised a growing demand for luxury homes in the inner west.

“During the process, we saw the void in the inner west for new builds and luxury homes. We recognised this is a booming suburb only minutes away from the Anzac Bridge and one of the few areas in the inner west that provides water views,” Denise said.

Danny’s construction company, PAMA, has since become a leading builder in the area, showing commitment to the suburb with projects spanning from Concord to Russell Lea and partnering with NRL team Wests Tigers as corporate sponsors.

With the sale of their home, the Tahans hope to pass on their dream to a new owner while continuing to invest in the area’s future.

“The opportunity to share the dream with others looking to settle in the inner west prompted the sale to enable further investments. For now, we will be prioritising investing in the growth and rebuilding of this beautiful suburb. We will continue on our search for our forever home,” Danny said.
