Opening doors in real estate

Now in its fourth year, the Ray White-backed, industry-wide initiative was created to build a supportive community for women in real estate and help them chase their potential.

“I got involved in Leading Ladies when it first began because I’ve always been passionate about women succeeding, especially in real estate. We still have a long way to go, especially getting more women into sales,” Kate said.

She said the events offer connection and constant learning.

“I love meeting new people and learning something new. I always walk away from Leading Ladies’ events with something valuable,” she said.

Kate said she felt privileged to be part of the community, which isn’t something she’s seen offered in many other industries. She’s also seen real results.

“Because Leading Ladies has grown beyond Ray White to include the entire industry, I’ve connected with women who now bring value to my business - from buyer’s agents to mortgage brokers,” she said.

“On a smaller scale, I’ve also met sales agents I’ve learnt from and connected with experienced women like Ray White North Richmond director Cindy Cash, who’s an incredible business owner and agent.

“Leading Ladies gave me access to her. It’s opening doors I wouldn’t normally have access to.”

Kate said the initiative had also helped her grow in confidence and communication.

“It’s taught me so much,” she said. “I now feel more comfortable introducing myself to other women, whether they’re at Ray White or in other parts of the industry.

“At big conferences, it can be intimidating with thousands of people. But Leading Ladies creates a space where I feel at ease.”

She said the community had created an uplifting and inclusive environment where women could share their wins and support each other.

“Even if you don’t have a huge amount of confidence, just start small,” Kate said. “Come along with a friend and embrace it. It really is a beautiful space.”
