A humble one bedroom unit in Melbourne's north is set to go under the hammer in a few weeks, with all proceeds of the sale going to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre in honour of the rental provider's late wife Vikki.

4/115 Rathcown Rd Reservoir is being sold by Mathew Marotta.

The Ray White Preston team are also running the sale for free, as are all the advertising and legal suppliers.

For Ray White Preston Head of Property Management Lisa D'agostino, who has looked after the investment property, it is more than just another property sale.

"This is a client I’ve had for about 20 years that followed me to Ray White when I joined seven years ago. But he’s been a long time vendor with our sales department, even before I started, he was selling his properties with our sales teams. When the renter moved out, the vendor John decided it was the perfect time to sell and honour his wife," Lisa said.

"Our team and John reached out to all the suppliers, and everyone was happy to support John and honour Vikki’s memory. John has used a lot of the suppliers over the years, so it was an instant yes from everyone," Lisa said.

The seller John said “this year is the 10 year anniversary of Vikki’s passing of cancer. And this is to honour Vikki.”

Lisa said "For me personally, I’ve known the entire family for so long, and it means so much to be involved. I’ve seen the family go through good times and extremely tough times. And this cause hits very close to home for me too. As a company, we were so excited to help John honour Vikki and support the Olivia Newton John research centre."

The charity has been promoting the auction and they will have representatives there on auction day. They were sincerely surprised and grateful for John’s generous donation. Vikki was a patient at the Olivia Newton John cancer centre through her long battle with cancer.
