Purchasing the home before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, 103 Emmett Road, Crafers West, became a sanctuary for Murray and Rachael, who have now popped the lifestyle block on the market.

After moving to Adelaide six years ago, Murray and Rachael lived in Taperoo where they unfortunately experienced a number of break-ins. Ready for a change, the pair searched for their perfect home.

“We looked for a long time before we found this property,” Murray said.

“It’s 10 acres in the hills which is pretty rare.

“We have a full 180-degree view of bushland, Glenelg and the ocean, plus you can't see another neighbour.

“We liked the security and the privacy. It’s wonderful bushland and we loved that lifestyle rather than being in suburbia.

“However, it’s just a short drive to the city. Rachael and I both worked in the city but then we got to come home to peace and tranquility.”

Murray and Rachael lived at the property all the way through the pandemic, with an array of animals including alpacas, sheep, and goats to keep them company.

They have now relocated to NSW where they have purchased another lifestyle block.

“It was our first time living on acreage and we became accustomed to it. We’ve now traded the views for a spot on a river,” Murray said.

“My wife loved the animals so we will no doubt have a stack of animals on our new property, and I can launch a boat straight onto the river.”

The property at 103 Emmett Road is now on the market with Ray White Mount Barker agent David Parkins.

“Properties of this size in the area are very tightly-held, it’s very much a one-off property,” David said.

“There’s probably only 20 properties a year transacting in the area, but as far as lifestyle properties maybe only three or four.

“It’s a very tidy, walk-in, home with beautiful views and lots of privacy.

“It would tick a lot of boxes for a lot of people. It’s a compact home on 10-acres which could suit a professional couple or a young family, or even downsizers looking for a retreat.”
