Rebecca Cuderman - Ray White Marsden QLD

When did you start riding, and how did you get into it?

I started horse riding three years ago. I always wanted to be around horses, my sister rode when I was younger, and this hobby just allowed me to disconnect with the outside and only focus on being calm.

Do you have any horses of your own?

I unfortunately don't have time to have my own but I ride three horses quite regularly at a school. Their names are Hunter and Phoenix (ponies/stock horse) and Mike (off track thoroughbred).

What style of riding do you do?

It really is just for fun, I ride once or twice a week and really just enjoy my time away from my phone. I am an adrenaline junkie so just trying new things each lesson is all I need.

What's your favourite place to ride?

Once a year at least I ride on the beachfront up at Noosa. It’s the best trail from bush to beach.

Any tips for people who might want to give it a go?

Just book in a lesson/trail ride to get a feel for it. Don't get caught up in the drama of needing all the right tack/outfits and just go and enjoy yourself.

When did you start riding, and how did you get into it?

I (Karen) have been riding most of my life. When I left school I rode racehorses doing track work for a couple of years. Tim was brought up on a farm and they were the best mode of transport. We have been leisure riders since then.

Do you have any horses of your own?

My horse Louis is a retired ex-trotter and Tim’s horse Promise is an ex-pacer.

What style of riding do you do?

We live on a lifestyle property on the outskirts of Carterton, and enjoy riding our horses around the property.

What do you love most about it?

The biggest pleasure we get from our horses now is the grounding reality. Grooming, handling, filing up hay nets, picking up horse poo in all weathers - this is real. But it’s the best way to start the day before heading into real estate with all of the daily demands. At the end of a busy day after dealing with multiple personalities the best person to listen to you is your horse!
