RWC gets onboard the America's Cup
The Australian campaign for the Youth and Women’s America’s Cup Team have welcomed new brand sponsorship partners, with RWC securing the gold partnership.
“We are particularly excited that this year will welcome the first ever women’s team to compete against 11 nations.”
Mr Linacre, who is passionate about sailing on a personal level, said he was incredibly proud to see the RWC flag flying in Barcelona.
“At RWC we understand the importance of championing youth and women in sport and in property alike.”
“Team Australia Challenge will represent the nation in this high-performance, global competition, creating a legacy of national significance and building pathways for youth and women in the sport,” Mr Linacre said.
The Unicredit Youth America’s Cup starts in Barcelona on 17 September with Australia taking to the water on the incredible AC40 foiling yachts in Group 2 on 18 September. The Puig Women’s America’s Cup will start on 5 October, with Australia hitting the water on 6 October in the Group 2 regatta which runs until 10 October before the final Match Race on 13 October.
All racing is set to be broadcast on Fox Sports in Australia with the two competitions interweaving with the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup racing series, providing maximum exposure for this watershed moment for women in sailing.
