The unstoppable Jody Fewster who owns Ray White Cottesloe | Mosman park also sat down with Bianca Denham.
Jody Fewster is an award-winning sales executive, who has consecutively displayed excellence as a leading Ray White performer.
Jody originally co-founded Ray White Cottesloe | Mosman Park in August 2018 and she now owns the business 100 per cent.
As a local, born and bred in the western suburbs of Perth, Jody has a network of buyers that is second to none.
Prior to selling property full time, Jody and her husband spent eight years buying, renovating and selling properties in Mosman Park and Peppermint Grove. She said Mosman Park is the luckiest place in the world - positioned between the ocean and the famous Cottesloe Beach and the Swan River in Perth.
Jody runs a low volume and high margin business. She knows she is very lucky and fortunate to be selling some of the most prestigious homes in Perth.
A lot of people are attracted to the western suburbs because it has the top private schools there and a relaxed coastal lifestyle but still less than 10km from the CBD.
Her business can sell anything from a $250,000 unit to a $7.5 million luxury home.
She is highly educated and boasts an MBA from the Harvard Business School in Boston.
She called her completing her MBA from Harvard Business School as the most exhilarating two years of her life, studying 200 cases over two years in Boston.
She says Ray White’s close relationship with Harvard’s Professor Boris Groysberg was one of the reasons she actually joined the group, for its focus on learning and leadership development.
“That was the kicker for me,” she said. Jody says her management training comes in handy every single day when she has to think on her feet as an agent in a listing presentation.
“I’m really comfortable being challenged and also knowing that you have to make decisions with limited information and I think that's still part of our industry today,” she said.
Jody said she has a fabulous team who she depends on.
“They are professionals and they know what their jobs are. Everyone has a very clearly articulated, written job description. Everyone knows what's required of them,” she said.
“I know how to design an organisation. I know what organisational structures work and which don't. And I know how to fail fast.
“I'm not afraid of getting something wrong because you just fix it and move on. You know they're not mistakes, they're just lessons. So surrounding yourself with people who think the same way is also motivating.”
